Welcome!

Hello family, friends, coworkers, and students!!!!

Here I sit at the airport, ready to board my plane for Fort Lauderdale, FL. From Fort Lauderdale I will take off for the concrete city of Port au Prince!
I plan to use this blog as my form of communication throughout my summer in Haiti! Last year I committed to sending a recap of my day via email each night. While I was unable to send pictures via email last summer, I'm hoping this blog will allow me to share some of my journey with you not only through words, but also through photographs.
This summer will look a little different (in many ways, I'm sure). I will be staying at the Heartline Guest House instead of with a single family (I sure do miss you Burton family!). I will spend each week with a new mission team. Instead of having my own room and space, I will be sharing space with multiple people...sleeping 8+ to a room full of bunk beds! The WIFI may not be as reliable as it was last year, as I will be sharing it with many others. I do not want to commit to posting every single day, but will do my best to keep this updated as much as possible. My fear in making that daily commitment is I don't want to take away fellowship time with other mission team members or take away from the experience of actually being present and experiencing all that God has in store for me while in country.

That being said, I covet your prayers and would LOVE to hear from you. Like last year, I want to give a disclaimer: I will read what you send me but may not always have time to respond. I love, love, loved hearing from those of you who sent me messages last year!
Feel free to comment on my blog posts or email me at: sarahbethpoling@gmail.com

Love & hugs,
Sarah/Ms. Poling

  6. Thanks so much for sharing. Enjoyed the pictures and the videos and getting to learn a little about Haiti. Are the children able to have pen pals?
